Masterworks Letters: Final

Can't believe it's over already--that went so fast.

It was a good month.  Crazy, busy, intense in multiple ways--but good.  It was hard to have everything wind down and finish up, and then to say goodbye to people.  Especially once we got settled in to the schedule and routine.  But that's the way things go.  I've been writing a lot in my journal, trying to process and not forget anything.  There was so much that happened (especially in the last week!) that it was just...trying to find a word that I haven't already used.  Amazing?  Wild?  Breathless or breathtaking?

I have a list of things that I want to go home and learn more about.  Researching Baroque dance forms, learning more about costume design, and going back to music history are the three that come to mind at the moment.

I learned so much--both musically and spiritually (and in the costume shop, and probably in several other areas too).  Musically, I have gotten a lot more serious about practicing intentionally instead of mindlessly (which is difficult when your mind goes on vacation--but chocolate helps).  Spiritually, it was just really neat to see God meet me and help me in ways that I completely was not looking for.  I'm very glad I went.

I'm relaxing in Indianapolis now with Lisa S.  It's kind of a good feeling.  Last night we were walking around and she took me into the auditorium.  The piano there is a Charles Walter, but  it's in tune and it felt really good to play.  I hadn't played for a day and a half.  :P

And finally--I am going back and reading some of the old theory class quotes from college days.  I'm finding them hysterically funny, which says something about my state of brain.  :D

:) I played the Kawai I teach on while waiting for a student, and it felt remarkably easy. My coordination is a little strange though. Not quite sure what to think of that.
