It's really good to be back...even though I still haven't seen most of my family yet (they are re-enacting in Wyoming, and Mom and I are leaving presently to join them). After tonight I will have spent four consecutive nights in four different states.
81 degrees and 20something% humidity felt sooo good yesterday evening--positively refreshing. Glad to be back where it's reasonably dry. :) Everyone here seems to think that it's really hot. It is, I suppose, and the sun is pretty intense. But at least it's not humid.
When I was in Indy Lisa and I went to this amazing used bookstore. It was really fun to browse shelves and shelves of books...and I bought so many that I had to send a box home. :D
Packing without the assistance of one's brain is usually not a good idea. Especially when one packs all of one's shampoo, conditioner, hairspray and the like in one's carry-one. Groan. Well, it did lighten my load.
It was so very nice to see Colorado terrain again. The sky is big and beautiful, without TREES to get in the way of everything (namely, the horizon). The mountains are so beautiful, and the prairie is too. There's room to breathe: I love it here. (Yes, it is possible that I'm spoiled, as one of my friends suggested.) :P
I am going through my MW packing list, adding things I wish I had (or bought, or had Mom send...) and striking out some of the things I didn't use. Hopefully that will simplify the dreaded organizing-and-packing process if I ever go back.
Hmm, I think I'm just writing randomnesses. I should probably stop and get some more un-packing done. Later, people!
(P. S. Just to clarify: I do like trees--in moderation.)
