Anna and I went out and I got fabric for my next Colonial project--want to guess what I'm making? I bought Kona cotton from Joanns, and I got some white silk thread; period-correct threads for the Colonial era were either silk or linen. I'm planning to do a Betsy Ross flag entirely by hand. Should be a lot of fun! I'll be sure to post pictures when it's done, but that might be a while. :) Also shown in the picture is a copy of the Declaration that I got from my friend in NC (which is much closer to Colonial Williamsburg and many other wonderful historical sites.) Thanks, Lisa!!
My Bonhoeffer biography came!!!! I have been waiting for this book for a Very Long Time. I first heard that this book was coming over a year ago and couldn't wait to read it...it was supposed to be released last April, and then last November, and it was finally released last month. I'm really excited to read it--as you likely know, I have been interested in Bonhoeffer for some time. I was impressed with Eric Metaxas' bio of William Wilburforce (Amazing Grace: William Wilburforce and the Heroic Campaign to End Slavery) and I can't wait to see what he has done with Bonhoeffer's story!! Book review will be coming once I finish it.

Very ambitious. We saw several hand-sewn flags at the Virginia museum in October. I couldn't help pointing out the amazing sewing quality to my very uninterested sisters. I hope your new project goes well. I'm rather sick of rectangles and squares at the moment and will stick with garment sewing for a while here. :)
Again, sis, I say you are amazing! :)
