It's snowing outside and has been almost non-stop since Tuesday night. It's been very light today, though, and it should let up sometime this evening. As of this morning there were about 20 inches on the ground. It's lovely, though it has messed with our plans to practice today. We're just going to have to get there really early tomorrow. :)
I've been practicing quite a lot. The Bach Chromatic Fantasy is quite a piece. I haven't quite decided what it is--I think it's telling a story, but the question is what story? Fairy tale? War story? Love story? (No, I do not have an overactive imagination.) :P The Rachmaninov Elegie that I'm doing is just beautiful. I'm the fourth one of my Friends and Relations to play it, so I've got some ideas to build on. :) And the Lecuona piece (a Spanish dance that's probably not 2 minutes long) that I have is great fun. Tomorrow's going to be good...especially getting to play on those 9' grand pianos. :)
I've been drinking a lot of tea lately. It's good for keeping yourself awake and functional without drinking coffee. :) I really like black tea (the British kind is best--Yorkshire preferably, though PG Tips is also good) with a little honey, vanilla extract, and milk.
Umm...I'd better get going. Programs to print, cookies to bake, a top to finish, practice to do... I'll check in another time!
Till later,
Rachel :)

Wish I could be there! Hope it goes well for you sis...and that the snow doesn't mess up plans too much!
20 inches of snow! I was out in 3/4 sleeves yesterday. We still have red trees and leaves blowing around. According to me, it's still fall, and fall does not include large quantities of snow. Listing some of your program slections just made me want to be there more. It was very kind of you to take time out of your busy day to let your friends know what you're up to... though this one could have guessed.:)
Perhaps when life slows down (whatever than means, right?!) you would be willing to share pictures of all of these fun and exciting happenings?
I miss you. Was very glad to finally see your orchestra play though before I left. =) Trust your piano recital went well. Knowing your talents and abilities, I'm sure that it went fabulous!
