I'm still here, and so is my blog, though we haven't had much interaction recently... It's been a good and busy summer so far. I'll give a quick update before Sarah and her pictures take this place over; she's been asking me to post some of her pics for a while now. :)
My garden was doing really well, but then we had a whopping storm (biggest one I've seen). It ripped things up, but at least I still have a garden. I went out this morning to see how things survived after the trip and I have many huge zucchini. I foresee the baking of zucchini bread and muffins in my near future (because I'm not going to follow David's advice and throw them in the canal...)
The trip was great! We got back very early this morning after a 21-hour day (about 19 of driving, with 2 hours in Kearney...visiting Cabela's and friends.) It was good to see family and be near the water. I love the water. We went to Mackinac Island, camped on Lake Michigan, and caught up with numerous relatives. (I read some books, too--surprising, yes? :)
It's nice to be home... I'm going to go see what needs to be done for dinner. Hope you all are doing well, and hopefully pictures will be forthcoming soon!!

It's so nice to hear from you! I was about ready to comment "Happy 4th of August" on your previous post. :) I'm glad you still have a garden. It's hard to leave and not worry about what's going to happen to those precious plants. Something is eating my irises all up... borers? Making my carnations drop their buds... wilt? Turning my daylilly leaves brown and yellow streaked... fungus? And I have one tomato on my one tomato plant. Zucchini bread sounds good to me! I hope you enjoy it. Are you sure you should share with David??
