Happy Easter!

It's a chilly, cloudy Easter Sunday here, but that's okay. I realized as we drove through the darkness (and occasional rain and snow) early this morning to a sunrise service that it's not the weather that matters. Just as the condition of the clouds has no impact whatsoever on whether or not the sun rises, so is the Resurrection--true and powerful no matter our circumstances.

Some of the lyrics to In Christ Alone:

There in the ground His body lay
Light of the world by darkness slain.
Then bursting forth in glorious Day
Up from the grave He rose again.
And as He stands in victory,
Sin’s curse has lost its grip on me;
For I am His and He is mine,
Bought with the precious blood of Christ.

No guilt in life, no fear in death;
This is the power of Christ in me.
From life’s first cry to final breath,
Jesus commands my destiny.
No power of hell, no scheme of man
Can ever pluck me from His hand;
‘til He returns or calls me home,
Here in the power of Christ I’ll stand.

I'm glad you found the deeper reason for a happy Easter and took the time to share your thoughts. Despite the below-freezing morning temperatures, we got a lovely blue sky, green grass, and bright tulips to celebrate our day. I rather expect that your contemplations were more fruitful than mine though.
