Home

And we're back! It was a good trip, though it seemed like we were gone for longer than 12 days. I don't know how many miles we traveled, but it was a lot. We were in the car for a total of 60 or 65 hours over 6 days of driving. :) I don't really mind it. Since we've been doing long road trips pretty much since I can remember, I'm used to it. I just sit and read or rest.

A few highlights:

  • Finishing almost all of the books I brought!
  • Washington, D. C. at night
  • Arlington National Cemetery--the Tomb of the Unknowns and the Changing of the Guard
  • A beautiful evening at the Manassas battlefield
  • Big thunderstorms
  • A bit of book-shopping
  • Seeing family--getting reacquainted and having fun with aunts, uncles and cousins.
And now that we're home, we continue to be rather busy...three orchestra concerts yesterday (if you drink enough Starbucks it helps you get through happily!), a Living History meeting tonight, various events over the weekend. We're very blessed to have friends to do things with.

Anyway, I should go check on dinner (pizza) and pick a salad from my garden. Till next time!

It sounds and looks like you had a great trip. The pictures are wonderful. They bring back memories of our whirlwind DC trip. I'm looking forward to hearing more about your experiences. I'm glad you had the chance to get away, but I am so glad you're back! I've missed you.
