The hymn for this week is Jesus, Lover Of My Soul. We're working on it in orchestra right now and will be playing it for our Easter concerts in March. Here's the link to it on Cyber Hymnal; there's a MIDI of the music and a bit of background information there.
Jesus, lover of my soul, let me to Thy bosom fly,
While the nearer waters roll, while the tempest still is high.
Hide me, O my Savior, hide, till the storm of life is past;
Safe into the haven guide; O receive my soul at last.
Other refuge have I none, hangs my helpless soul on Thee;
Leave, ah! leave me not alone, still support and comfort me.
All my trust on Thee is stayed, all my help from Thee I bring;
Cover my defenseless head with the shadow of Thy wing.
Wilt Thou not regard my call? Wilt Thou not accept my prayer?
Lo! I sink, I faint, I fall—Lo! on Thee I cast my care;
Reach me out Thy gracious hand! While I of Thy strength receive,
Hoping against hope I stand, dying, and behold, I live.
Thou, O Christ, art all I want, more than all in Thee I find;
Raise the fallen, cheer the faint, heal the sick, and lead the blind.
Just and holy is Thy Name, I am all unrighteousness;
False and full of sin I am; Thou art full of truth and grace.
Plenteous grace with Thee is found, grace to cover all my sin;
Let the healing streams abound; make and keep me pure within.
Thou of life the fountain art, freely let me take of Thee;
Spring Thou up within my heart; rise to all eternity.

That's a neat idea, but I'm afraid I couldn't commit myself to it right now with some other stuff going on..
BTW, your new site meter scares me. :P LOL!! I feel like a criminal or something when I go to people's sites and get "counted." :D LOL.. I know - I'm very strange. :D
I love the idea! I'm with you... :)
Oops, that's supposed to be me above. :)
Leah...I had to laugh at your thoughts about Sitemeter. It's fun, but it is amazing what they can learn about you. For the record, I do not view visitors to my blog as criminals. ;) Thanks for visiting anyway!
Sis...thanks. (I wondered for a minute when I saw the "Michael", though. :)
Ooohhhhhh.... I will try! Will there be a test? :)
Our conversation on Sunday has lifted me up through this week. I'm glad you're my friend!
Love you!~L, who will be doing a lot of singing this week
I would love to join you as well, however I am committed to memorizing Scripture right now (I have been personally challenged in that area) and my brain can only memorize so much at one time ... especially since it has been many years since I last memorized chapters from the Bible.
Perhaps later on I will, as I think it's a wonderful idea!
Good for you, Cheri! Do you have a plan/schedule for memorizing Scripture? That, too, is something I need to work on.
I really don't have a plan (hmm...probably would be a good idea since I like schedules) but right now I am memorizing Psalms 46.
How do you like to memorize Scripture passages?
Well, I tend to need help with motivation on memorizing Scripture too. I think accountability with someone outside the family is one of the best ways to go. One way that used to work for me when I'd memorize more Scripture was to do a verse a day, learning it in the evening and reviewing it once I was in bed. Anyone else have suggestions?
