We're home again. We got back just before midnight last night, after nearly 19 hours on the road. A new record, one that I'm currently content to let stand. :) Some highlights:
Grandma's cooking. Nobody can beat Grandma, even if they use the exact same recipe.
Sunlight on water...vast expanses of water.
Visiting with aunts, uncles, and all manner of cousins.
Michigan's Upper Peninsula and Lake Superior--that beautiful land of long twilight, cold clear water, crashing waves.
Driving my uncle's 1968 Mustang.
Late at night, the lights of a freighter passing far out on the lake.
Ice cream.
Building a sand castle (Scottish this time) on Lake Michigan with my cousin. It's tradition.
Home again...
