Masterworks Letters VII

Very busy here--just a quick note after I go to bed.  I mean before I go to bed.  :P  It's a little on the crazy side now.  The dance performances are Friday/Saturday and today was a big crunch trying to get all of the costumes ready for that...on top of usual class and practice.  I think everything is coming together, though, and I got lots of work study time.  Hopefully we'll get to see some work on theatre costumes now.

The piano program has two recitals because there are so many of us.  The first is tomorrow afternoon; I'll be playing Rachmaninov.  I am also playing it as the "prelude" for the Friday dance performance.  That's exciting, because it's playing for a large audience (festival and general public people) and not everyone gets to do it.  The pieces are supposed to be under 5 minutes and of a cheerful nature (!), apparently.  The Elegie pushes the limit on both of those so I thought I wouldn't be eligible to play for any of the preludes, but our program director asked me if I could.  I'm excited about it.  "Preludes" here actually come after the welcome and are announced, so it's really not a prelude; it's more of a real performance.  I'd appreciate prayer that I can relax, practice well and play well.  Thanks, and I have to get some sleep now.  :)

You'll do fine. Just play the piano.
