Tea "Recipe"

It's only very rarely that I order something other than coffee at Starbucks.  I've had the passion tea a few times (good stuff for a hot summer day when you don't want to spend much money), and once I had the London Fog latte.  That was good...it was some kind of black tea (maybe Earl Gray?) with milk and vanilla syrup, I think.  I have since messed around with my own tea to see what I could do to imitate it; here's what I have been doing recently.

Ingredients:
1 pot of strong black tea (I use Yorkshire and steep it with two bags to four cups of water, though PG Tips would also be good.)
Honey
Vanilla extract
Milk/half-and-half

Mug and spoon

Brew tea.  Put a little honey and a little vanilla in the bottom of your (preferably large) mug.  Fill it about halfway with hot tea and stir immediately; this is important, as it gets rid of that odd vanilla extract flavor that you get if you try putting the vanilla in later.  I think it has to do with the hot tea evaporating the alcohol out of the vanilla, but that's just my scientifically unsubstantiated opinion.  Add milk and fill the mug up the rest of the way with tea.  Enjoy at your leisure.  Repeat as needed to use up tea.  (Note: if you do what I do and make a double-strong pot of Yorkshire, it might give you a caffeine buzz.)

And another random note: World Market (Cost Plus) has the best salty chocolate.  It's dark chocolate, and it is genuinely salty.  Good stuff...you should try it sometime if you're a fan of salty chocolate (like I am).

yum! I liked Starbucks London Fog tea.

When I was living in Dallas, the girls and I found a way to make something that tasted similiar to it using Earl Grey tea (by Tazo), sugar, vanilla creamer, and a little bit of heavy whipping cream. It tasted very similiar and was quite tasty! ;)

Mmm! Sounds good! Maybe I'll get up a couple minutes early tomorrow to make it to have for school, as I may need some "caffine buzz" considering I have a math quiz tomorrow! ::winks::

That sounds delicious. I've been rapidly finishing a box of Candy Cane Lane. When my mom brought it home, I looked at the description and thought "Vanilla mint?!" But it's delicious. I'm sure vanilla in black tea would be too. Artificial vanilla would avoid the alcohol flavor altogether, though it has few additional merits.
