Snippets

I'm at my friends' home in the mountains for a few days.  It's been a fun time, though I am t.i.r.e.d.   :)   I've mostly been watching the younger kids, taking them places and otherwise trying to keep them occupied.  So far, I haven't lost anyone, had any serious injuries, locked the keys in the car, or had any other serious Catastrophies.  (Whew!)

I've also been cooking.  I don't have a good track record with rice--I tend to burn it.  I mean, it tends to burn.  :)  Today we made sugar cookies.  Quite the undertaking.

I had the four younger kids at the park yesterday (they range in age from 3-9).  Almost as soon as we walked up an older lady asked me "Are they all yours?"   :)   Ahem.  We had fun at the park...the Tickle Monster put in an appearance, and we went wading.  Next time we go wading I should remember to bring extra clothes.  At least we had towels.

Joe, the youngest, has been hilarious with the hats he wears.  Yesterday he put his on inside-out, with the brim curved upwards.  It was so cute I let him wear it that way.   Today he was wearing two baseball caps, one on top of the other.

Sam and Sarah, of their own accord, split their money and bought me ice cream when we went to Baskin Robbins (to use their free certificates from the library reading program) after lunch yesterday.  :)

This is rather embarrassing...  Today was the first time I've ever put gas in a vehicle on my own.  I did it once with my mom a year or two ago (that was after I almost made it to 23, I think, without putting gas in myself).  Awful, isn't it?  I managed though.

Think that's all for now.   Should go get dinner going.

TTFN!

Don't be embarrassed. At 25 years of age, I have yet to pump gasoline into a car. Truth is, I don't even know how to!

I think I was 23. You could always think of the New Jersians -- it's illegal to pump gas in that state.

I'm home sis!! :)

A few days in the mountains sounds just lovely! It's so strange to be home and not have to live out of a suitcase anymore...!

Are you serious?? I guess that comes from having brothers and a dad to take care of those things for you. I hardly have had to drive anywhere (or pump gas!) this summer...what with "little brothers" eager to rack up hours of driving time. :)

Too funny about the ladies comment to you..! =)
