So that's what they are! I had those growing in my large flower bed a couple years ago, and had no idea how they got there or what they were. They only bloomed once. Very pretty though!

Yes, Cheri, it's blue flax--it's actually a natural wildflower in this area but you can also grow it from seed or get plants. Mine are from seed--I planted them last year.
Hmm, very nice to know. Since I certainly didn't plant it with seed or by plant, I guess I must assume then that wind carried it to bloom in my garden for a season. =)
Very pretty. My garden is full of iris right now. :) I planted some poppy seeds. They're all of 1/2" high right now. We'll see how the seeds do... I have a number of packages so I lose only time by planting them, and gain flowers if they actually grow. :)
