Hello friends!
Sorry about missing Sunday's post again. Truly, it wasn't my fault this time; something with our computer went wacky and I couldn't post on my blog. Quite frustrating. It's all better now, though, as you can see.
Living History went well! We had a record crowd--somewhere between 700 and 800 people came through in the course of the day. Drama was a blast; acting can be quite enjoyable. Music went well too. Sitting on straw bales and scattering straw all over the ground in our tent helped make us feel more frontier-ish. (Keep in mind that the frontier in this case is current-day West Virginia.) Going barefoot helped too, though it was very chilly in the early morning and rather prickly if one happened to step in a thistle patch. :)
I'm enjoying CYS very much, even if the necessary violin practice does have a tendency to eat up my piano practice time. Playing with such a talented group is so stimulating and exciting. Challenging too, but it's great overall.
Good News Club started last week. We have many of the same kids and a few new ones. It's so much fun--the things the kids say and do, the ability to impact their lives through teaching them about God, the chance to develop friendships with them... It is a special opportunity.
Teaching and Good News Orchestra are pretty much in full swing again. I'm enjoying my students this year, so far. And GNO is a species of its own, but we do have fun. Can't deny that. :)
I have a sewing job right now--a birthday surprise for a little girl. It's fun to be sewing more again and perhaps I'll even get to some of my own projects after this one is finished!
Speaking of sewing, I had better go see what I can get done this evening. Hope the rest of your week goes well!!
Rachel
