One of my favorite cake recipes--it's rather heavy and not overly sweet. Some of us like to have this cake on our birthdays. :)
Oreo Sour Cream Cake
2 c. flour
1 1/2 c. sugar
1 c. sour cream
1/2 c. butter, softened
1/2 c. water
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp baking powder
2 eggs
16 oreos, coarsely chopped or crushed
Preheat oven to 350, grease and flour 9x13 pan. (You can also multiply the recipe by 1-1/2 and bake it in a 10x15.) Beat all ingredients except cookies for 30 seconds, scraping bowl constantly. Beat on high for additional two minutes (important--I learned that if you don't do this the cake is more likely to fall). Add cookies to batter. Bake for 30-40 minutes. Frost with cool whip and garnish with additional oreos. Enjoy!!
