Rambley Pre-trip Post

We leave early in the morning for the Land of the Far North. I'm hoping we see the Northern Lights at some point in the trip--wouldn't that be neat?

I think I'm pretty much all packed. I'd better be at this point. Hopefully I haven't forgotten anything. I've already remembered a number of things that I would have forgotten if I hadn't remembered them, so technically the list of things I might forget has shrunk considerably. I should make a list to double-check tomorrow morning just in case-- Waterbottle. Backpack with books. Other book bag. Shoes. Watch. Photo ID. (If this paragraph doesn't make sense, it's probably my fault, not yours.)

List of books for trip: John Adams by David McCullough (poor man isn't finished yet, though I'm about halfway through), On asking God Why by E. Elliot, Orthodoxy by G. K. Chesterton, The Abolition Of Man by C. S. Lewis, Ivanhoe by Sir Walter Scott, of course my Bible, a nice new leatherbound journal... A few books for the purposes of reading aloud will come along, and if I get tired of all my books I can always start on my siblings'. Do you think it will be enough? I keep thinking that I need more to read (not joking), but realistically I think I'll be okay. :)

Checked on the regulations regarding bringing of edibles over the border. Or, more accurately, tried to check on the regulations. Quite red-tapey, if you ask me. It's confusing, but I think I learned enough to keep us out of trouble. Certainly hope so... At least I think our zucchini bread--3 loaves of normal and 4 loaves of chocolate--will be okay. (No, my garden's not producing zucchini yet--I had so much last year that I froze quite a bit. My family asks most earnestly that I not plant so much zucchini this year.)

I think that is all the rambles I have for the moment. I should go check on my stuff and perhaps make that list. And, of course, it would be good to get to bed before too late because we're leaving quite early...

Till next time, then! God's blessings to you.

Have a nice trip to Canada! It sounds like you're going to enjoy yourself. :) And of course, I'll look forward to seeing pictures when you get back! ;)

And ya know, if you have any trouble getting over the border, you could always GIVE the security guy a loaf of bread for a "peace offering"... lol.. maybe then he'll except it? ;-) :grins:

God bless you as you go! "See" you when you return. :)

I just heard from Rebecca that the wedding will be in or near Banff. Well, enjoy the beautiful Canadian Rockies. And remember to take lots of pics ;)
